Rethinking Education from New Perspectives
and "Educating Oneself" by Broadening One's Perspectives

Educational equity is important to us

“How can we create opportunities and put support systems in place so that all children and young people can receive an education and grow up well—in a way that allows them lead a life that suits them (as defined by the Swiss pediatrician Remo Largo)?”

Educational equity is a challenge that calls for bold action on multiple levels.

There is a great need for fair opportunities for all children and young people.
Giving everyone the same thing and the same amount is not the solution.

The challenge lies in addressing the diversity of human development from multiple perspectives and opening up spaces for growth.

This requires commitment and good ideas within educational institutions and beyond. It requires policymakers and the Department of Education to establish appropriate supportive frameworks and enable suitable structures. It requires society to take responsibility for the common good and for educational equity.

Thinking about education collectively and shaping it through shared responsibility from diverse perspectives—we see this, in our role as a foundation, as a challenging task that we are happy to take on and also to support when communities set out on this path.

Where We Want to Go

What We Do

The perspektiven-lernen Foundation aims to help the educational landscape of South Tyrol develop and expand organically—through dialogue with the local community and in cooperation with a wide variety of partners.

Local educational stakeholders should be able to build for themselves what they need to do their educational work well.

The perspektiven-lernen Foundation aims to support educational institutions and help children and young people realize their potential and prepare themselves for life and their vocations.

The perspektiven-lernen Foundation will:

maintain a dialogue with stakeholders in education, as well as with children and young people;
Creating opportunities for people and ideas to connect and bring something new into the world;
Offer support and guidance and provide safeguards so that meaningful initiatives and activities can flourish and be sustained over the long term.

Who We Serve What We Support

We support a wide variety of stakeholders in South Tyrol’s educational landscape, but above all communities that want to develop and establish their own support systems to address local challenges.

In particular, we support and promote:

the development, activation, and "filling" of new learning spaces and their interconnection;
the participatory development and implementation of educational strategies and learning formats that complement and expand the existing school curriculum;
Measures designed to help young people realize their diverse potential, as well as actively engage with topics that reflect the complexity of the world.
