Born in 1963, he attended the teacher training college in Bruneck from 1977 to 1981 and studied education at the Faculty of Educational Sciences (Leopold-Franzens University of Innsbruck) from 1987 to 1993, majoring in philosophy, German studies, andpsychology, served as an elementary school teacher at various schools in South Tyrol, has worked as a school principal since 1994 (most recently in the Welsberg school district), and during this time founded the Pustertal School Association and led it together with colleagues. He has been retired since 2021 and now devotes himself to his “passions.”
